Situation:
An investor group was evaluating an investment in one of the largest manufacturers of trailer hitches in both the US and Europe.
Ameridan’s Role:
The investor group engaged Ameridan to provide an assessment of the markets for the products manufactured by the target company as well as the company’s market performance/competitive position. This work included:
- An assessment of competitive dynamics including product/service differentiation and barriers to switching suppliers;
- Differences in manufacturing locational footprints across competitors and implications for competitiveness;
- Company performance/position across various market channels;
- Market perceptions of the company’s products and service capabilities vis-à-vis its major competitors.
As part of its market diligence process, Ameridan conducted scores of structured, in-depth interviews with competitors, retailers, distributors, and dealers.
