An investor group was evaluating an acquisition of a US-based book wholesaler serving a wide variety of retail establishments.
Ameridan’s Role:
The investor group engaged Ameridan to provide an assessment of the markets for trade hardcover, trade paperback, and mass-market paperback books. This work included:
- An analysis of trends and drivers in US consumer book demand regarding sales channels, differences across book genre, digital/print formats, and the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on past and future demand;
- An assessment of the market power of major publishers, the associated risks of disintermediation, and potential strategies to mitigate this risk.
