Situation:

An investor group was evaluating a potential controlling investment in Wire Rope Corporation of America (WRCA), a leading manufacturer of steel wire and wire rope. Although impressed by the Company’s new management team and its recent turnaround efforts, the investors were concerned about several key strategic and competitive issues facing the Company.

Ameridan’s Role:

Ameridan was engaged to provide market diligence services. Ameridan assembled and led a project team which included competitive intelligence professionals located in Asia and Europe. The Ameridan team assessed several key strategic and competitive issues including WRCA’s competitive position relative to domestic and international competitors, relationships with key customers, the outlook for demand conditions in end-use markets, channel relationships and strategies, and threats from substitute products/technologies.
