Situation:

Burrows Paper Corporation is a long-time family-owned company that operates four paper mills and six packaging converting facilities in the U.S. and abroad. Headquartered in Little Falls, New York, with four paper mills operating in New York and Mississippi, Burrows is a leading manufacturer of lightweight specialty paper with a reputation for highly engineered products.

Ameridan’s Role:

Two private equity groups engaged Ameridan to conduct customer/market diligence regarding the potential acquisition of Burrows.

The project’s main focus was assessing customer views of Burrows performance regarding various key buying factors including paper quality, run-ability, management, technical expertise, customer service, salesforce effectiveness, competitiveness, manufacturing operations and new product development.

The project also explored relationship dynamics, competitive positioning, future purchase expectations, and industry trends.

The transaction closed in November 2016.
